EASTON – Joshua M. Deutsch of Cambridge recently joined Character Counts Mid Shore (CCMS) as Development Associate where he is responsible for fund raising and grant writing.  Josh has served as a Character Counts Coach and as a member of the Board of Trustees.  A graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, he received a BS degree in Public Relations with a minor in Digital Design.  Deutsch also holds a degree in Marketing Management.

Established in 1998, CCMS is a non-profit organization that works to espouse positive character development in every aspect of life.  Non-political and non-religious, the organization’s mission is to provide and implement a citizen-driven character enrichment program; based on the Six Pillars of CharacterTrustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship; to all citizens in Talbot, Dorchester, and Caroline Counties.

“We are extremely pleased on have Josh join the staff,” states Susan Luby, Executive Director of CCMS.  “His energy and enthusiasm, along with his marketing skills, will help this organization continue to grow in the communities we serve.”


Each year Character Counts Mid Shore awards three $1000 A. James Clark Character Counts Citizenship Scholarships to high school graduating seniors in Talbot, Caroline and Dorchester Counties.  The scholarship is based on quality of community service.  For more information, call CCMS at 410-819-0396.

2018 Annual Fundraiser!

Character Counts Mid Shore, Inc. is sponsoring our 10th annual Six Pillars Century Blackwater Tour cycling fundraiser on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, MD. This cycling event will include four FLAT ride choices, including a 37-mile fun and fitness ride, a 56-mile Ironman Eagleman 70.3 Course, and a 100-mile Century Course.
