The Gift of Advocacy
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GIVE CHARACTER COUNTS MID SHORE THE GIFT OF ADVOCACY?
Similar to the Gift of Connection, becoming an advocate for CCMS means connecting our organization with others and sharing our mission. Advocacy, however, takes that connection one step further. When you become an advocate on our behalf, you share your personal belief that what Character Counts Mid Shore is doing is something truly special. You lend your voice to our cause.
I'M IN! WHAT ARE SOME ACTIVITIES I CAN DO TO ADVOCATE FOR CCMS?
Thank you! We couldn't be more thrilled that you are passionate about our programming and our vision for the future of the students we serve and our community. Here are just a few ways that you can work alongside us to make our shared vision a reality:
Write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper (The Star Democrat, The Talbot Spy, The Dorchester Banner, The Dorchester Star, and The Caroline Times-Record are great examples!)
Host a get together at your home, a club you are a member of, your place of worship, or similar and invite us to speak! Are you an Elk? A Rotary Member? A PTA leader? An active member of your faith? Have many community-minded, philanthropically-engaged friends? If you can arrange a time for us to come speak, whether formally or informally, and provide a venue, we will clear our calendars and be there!
Fundraise on our behalf Your voice as an independent advocate for CCMS is capable of a uniquely and powerfully persuasive case for support because of your personal commitment to the mission of Character Counts Mid Shore. Don't know where to start? Email us and we'll work through it together!
